![]() ![]() *Reinstall toilet aligning holes with bolts *Clean all traces of wax ring from floor, drain and toilet *Flush and remove as much water as possible from the toilet Some tutorials will tell you to put the ring/flange on the floor and put the toilet over it, but I found that by putting it on the bottom of the toilet you're sure of it being aligned properly. It's easier if you have someone help you to align the screws into their holes when you put the toilet back on, but I did it alone no problem. Just make sure you remove all trace of the old one (on the floor and under the toilet) before putting in the new one. You'll need some plastic gloves and a wide flathead screwdriver or similar to scrape off the old one and lots of spare towels to contain the small puddle of left-over water probably.ĭidn't encounter anything special while doing it. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish.
